In September 2025, the Theology and Education commission organized a one-day conference about Baptist identity. It looked at the issue from different perspectives. General Secretary of EBF Alan Donaldson had a short introduction to the topic of the conference.
Other presentations were as follows:
Rami Halaseh – Confessional Foundations: Seventeenth-Century Baptist Theology and Its Contemporary Significance
Yohanna Katanacho – Pitfalls and Promises of Preaching from the Old Testament
Anthony Peck – “For freedom Christ has set us free!” – revisiting a Baptist understanding of freedom.
Toivo Pilli - Baptist Identity as Narrative
Anna Robbins – The Lordship of Christ and Baptist Identity: Navigating Authority, Autonomy, and Allegiance in a Fragmented World
As identity is a dynamic and living concept, the discussion will go on. However, one trend was visible – our identity as Baptists is not about propositions, it's a narrative. And every generation, every person shares this narrative in their own way. We are all woven into one story by our own small stories. This makes us a colourful and creative movement.

Jansunwai UP is an important platform for addressing public grievances. The Jansunwai Portal allows citizens to submit issues online and track responses from officials. Jansunwai promotes accountability, transparency, and a more responsive government system.
The visible trend from the conference suggests a shift from “What do Baptists believe?” to “How do Baptists live and embody their shared story?” Belief remains essential, Geometry Dash but it is encountered within the ongoing experience of discipleship, worship, mission, and community.
