Stand with Turkey and Syria

SITUATION

7.8-magnitude earthquake struck the nations of Syria and Turkey, leaving massive destruction on both sides of the border.

Reports indicate that more than 50,000 people have died with countless others injured. Rescuers are working diligently to locate survivors amidst the rubble.

Baptist Response

Baptist church leaders in Turkey are mobilising response efforts, and leaders in Lebanon are working with Syrian Baptists to respond to needs in the communities impacted.

The Hungarian Baptist Aid Rescue24 team consisting of 19 specialists and 7 rescue dogs is in Turkey working tirelessly to rescue more people stuck in the rubble.

​

European Baptist Federation together with German Baptist Aid (GBA), the Lebanese Society for Educational and Social Development (LSESD/MERATH) and other BFAD partners are coordinating their response to best support our churches working on the ground and helping people affected by this disaster.
