Share your story of mission over coffee with the world's finest Baptist mission specialists. Join other climate and human rights campaigners, and peacemakers to explore how we can serve together in mission as a global community. Worship the God who sends us out. Discover the richness of a multicultural family sharing love of Jesus; Make lasting friendships that will encourage you to fulfill God’s mission plans for the rest of your life.

SENT 2023 — Mission Summit, a partnership between the European Baptist Federation (EBF) and the Baptist World Alliance (BWA), and hosted by the Baptist Union of Norway, is an opportunity for Baptists of all ages to gather together with a strategic focus on both the privilege and responsibility we share in God’s global mission. This is a mission summit where you can make a difference.

The Mission Summit will be preceded by the BWA’s Annual Gathering (2-5 July) and we encourage everyone to come to both elements of the week. These events are not just for denominational leaders but for people from across our Baptist family – people of all ages and traditions, in order for us to hear and learn from each other.

The BWA’s Annual Gathering (2-5 July) will also include global updates on Mission activity around the world, and sessions led by the 14 BWA Commissions that explore from a Baptist viewpoint various issues from creation care to Baptist doctrine, from evangelism and mission through to religious freedom and human rights as well as the BWA General Council meeting where our member bodies gather to discern God’s direction for the future.

We encourage everyone coming to Stavanger to attend the whole week and experience the full breadth of fellowship, input, and blessing.

In our time together in Norway, at both events, we will share inspiring testimonies of what God is already doing through Baptist churches and unions to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and how it is changing lives and transforming communities. We will hear from gifted keynote speakers as well as insightful Bible study and seminar leaders, collectively listening for God’s voice in directing us in our mission for the future. We especially look forward to the contribution from younger people making or seeking to make a difference in the world today, as they help us explore the context and needs that we are facing.

Through inspiring worship, prayer times, and sharing meals together, we want to encourage and support one another, building our friendships across nations, cultures, and languages – expressing our solidarity in Jesus Christ who unites us all together.

There will also be special programs for children and teenagers during SENT 2023 Mission Summit.

  • The BWA Annual Gathering commences at 8:15 am on Monday 3 July and finishes just before dinner on Wednesday 5 July.

  • SENT 2023 commences with dinner on Wednesday 5 July and finishes with lunch on Sunday 9 July.

  • Those who are members of the BWA Executive Committee (2 July) or the EBF Council (morning of 5 July), will receive separate communications about these meetings.

It is an ideal location for us to seek God together, celebrate His goodness and have a time of meaningful fellowship as we meet, eat and share together.

The Venue:

The Stavanger Forum is about 2.5 km (1.5 miles) from the centre of Stavanger, although most of the accommodation is within walking distance of the venue. Airport Bus no FB40 passes by the Stavanger Forum.  Buses 2,3, 6 & 7 also pass the Stavanger Forum from the City Centre. The stop needed is Tjensvollkrysset.
