Prayer Calendar | Moldova

24 November - 30 November 2025

Since the Republic of Moldova gained its independence, our country has gone through many situations. First of all, after the fall of an oppressive and inhuman regime, practised in the USSR, the Republic of Moldova experienced freedom of conscience, as well as a great opportunity to preach the Gospel. This was followed by an opening on the part of the population, and thousands of people returned to God. But along with spiritual freedom came other changes, such as emigration and economic problems. This was followed by mass migration to Western Europe and the US.

At the moment, we continue to enjoy freedom, but the Republic of Moldova remains one of the poorest countries in Europe, which also affects the stability of the churches. As mentioned above, emigration has affected our churches over the last 20 years. Along with many members, many pastors have also emigrated, which has affected the church ministry.

Recently, we had parliamentary elections in Moldova, and soon we will have a new government. We pray & believe that, under God's providence, things will develop in a positive direction, for what we pray and hardly work. We also learn from the great apostle of the Gentiles, the apostle Paul: “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

As for the Baptist churches, we continue to enjoy freedom and a great opening on the part of society, and we have many opportunities to preach the Gospel in our country and even beyond its borders.

Prayer needs:

  • Pray for the pastors in the Republic of Moldova. Pastors in the Baptist churches in Moldova are going through difficult times. Moldova has the weakest economy in Moldova. Pastors are not supported by local churches, which are small and economically underdeveloped.

  • For the development of newly planted churches. With the fall of the USSR, a favourable environment for planting churches was created in Moldova. Every year, new churches are planted in villages where there is no evangelical Baptist presence. Please pray for the newly formed Baptist churches.

  • Please pray for the Baptist churches that do not have pastors. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Support us in prayer for the training of new pastors for ministry.

  • For economic development. Due to the weak economy, many Moldovans migrate to Western Europe in search of jobs.

  • Please pray with us for the country and the new government, which was recently elected.

  • Pray for peace in Moldova. Moldova supports Ukraine, and there are thousands of Ukrainian refugees in Moldova.
