Meet Inger Lise Salvesen

Back in January, during our Connect gathering for Youth and Children’s Ministry leaders, a new chair was chosen to lead the Y&C Committee. If you haven’t met Inger Lise yet, we wanted to give you a chance to get to know her a little better. So we asked her a few questions 👇

What other roles or work have you been involved in before becoming Chair?

I've been involved with youth ministry, in different roles, since I was 16. For 7 years I was the youth pastor in my local baptist church. I've also been chair for the Norwegian baptist children and youth organisation. And I've worked for the baptist union in Norway since 2020.

In EBF, I've been vice chair of the youth &children committee since 2022.

What’s your passion?

As the answer to the previous question may suggest, I'm passionate about youth ministry 😄 In our teens we make so many decisions about who we are and what we want to be. And I'm convinced that we make better decisions if we know the God who created us and knows us better than anyone.

I'm also passionate about building multi-ethnic churches, which brings me to the next question.

What inspires you about the network of EBF?

In Christ we have all become children of God, together we are his people. Therefore, Sunday at 11 am cannot be the most segregated time of the week. It does not provide a credible witness. "This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other." (Joh 13:35 MSG)

We’re so thankful for Inger Lise and her heart for the next generation and the church! 💛
