EBF Council 2022

Riga, Latvia

21-24 September 2022 — Riga, Latvia

It is with great joy that we write to invite you to our council gathering in Riga this September. We believe that this council has the potential to be one of the most significant Baptist gatherings in Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East.

It is our desire to gather together leaders from our member bodies, mission and aid partners across the globe, and from the next generation of Baptist leaders in our region. We will explore together: mission and ministry in a post-Covid world; a world impacted by old and new conflicts; challenging economics; global environmental concerns; new opportunities to demonstrate the beauty, wonder and hope of the Kingdom of God.

We invite you to come ready to participate in an interactive council. We plan to hear many voices, sharing their hopes and dreams for our region, and for our growing European Baptist Family, as the Spirit of God moves among us. We would especially like to emphasise our desire that you seek to bring leaders from across the generations.

We want this event to include those serving in children’s, youth and family ministries across the EBF. Please endeavour to bring some of those in your union who are involved in these ministries. It is important for us to hear from a broad generational mix and those serving among the next generation.

It is now more important than ever that we jointly invest as the European Baptist Family in building together for the future.

Alan Donaldson, General Secretary

Kaspars Šterns, Bishop of the Union of Baptist Churches in Latvia

Samantha Mail, Chair of Youth & Children's Work Committee

Helle Liht, Assistant General Secretary
