As the war in Ukraine continues, we continue to lift up our brothers and sisters in Ukraine.

In Isaiah’s vision of the coming Kingdom, he recognises that the Lord “will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many people.” Although we live in a time when the Kingdom of God has not yet come in its fullness, we can still pray for glimpses of this kingdom to be seen at this time.

We pray with our Ukrainian brothers and sisters for the intervention of our Heavenly Father and the inbreaking of his Kingdom at this moment in history to restore peace between nations.

Ukraine Appeal

EBF is grateful for the outstanding generosity of the global Baptist family over the past months. Your gifts have enabled thousands of Ukrainian refugees and Internally Displaced People (IDPs) to receive care, safe passage, and critical support through the work of our Baptist brothers and sisters in Ukraine and in the neighbouring countries.

As winter sets in and as Ukrainians look to the reality of a long-term war response, our prayers and gifts are still needed to sustain the Kingdom work of supporting those in need.

Your donations will help to purchase food, hygiene items, medicine, generators, gasoline, blankets, pillows, and necessary items for the IDPs and refugees who have fled the country. These donations will help continue to run shelters and housing accommodations in many Baptist churches in the region through the difficult winter months.

OUR RESPONSE

EBF Prayer and Solidarity with Ukraine

The European Baptist Federation (EBF) laments and denounces the Russian attacks on Ukraine early this morning (24 February). We pray unceasingly for the people of Ukraine and cry out for God’s protection and justice for the vulnerable.

We affirm and encourage the work of Ukrainian Baptists in reaching out in the love of Christ to those most affected by the conflict. We call upon those in power to use their courage, wisdom, and resources to make peace and to stop war.

We as European Baptists stand with our Ukrainian brothers and sisters ready to assist in humanitarian outreach in regions affected by the conflict.

Even in moments dark as these, we hope in God’s promise to teach us His ways and walk in His paths, so that the people of the world,

Shall beat their swords

into plowshares,

and their spears into

pruning hooks;

nation shall not lift up sword

against nation,

neither shall they learn

war any more.

Isaiah 2:4
