EBF Mission Conference
EBF Mission and Evangelism Commission Conference
Bold Acts: Seeing the God of the Early Church at Work today
13-16 June 2018 Sofia, Bulgaria
In Acts 4, when the believers had been freed from prison, where they had been held because of their proclaiming the Gospel, you would have thought their prayer would be one of “protect us God”. This is not the case, in verse 29 we read “Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness”.
For 400 years, Baptist Christians have been taking part in bold and courageous ministries. These actions have led to risks, but also the Gospel being proclaimed beyond the safe places and to people who need to hear the good news of Jesus. This is not just true of history though, in 2018 Baptists are still making a difference, sometimes at great personal costs, to make Jesus known. They still pray for boldness and confidence to make the love of Christ known.
During our conference, we want to hear and tell the stories of these actions and also challenge ourselves, and the wider Baptist community to do even more, knowing that God can do far more than we can even imagine, according to his power at work in us. We will hear the voices of many of the conference participants and we are delighted to have as our main speaker Dimitrina Oprenova who is from Bulgaria and is one of the vice presidents of the Baptist World Alliance.
Our conference will be held in the new Baptist Church in the centre of Sofia and our accommodation will be just along the road in the City Avenue Hotel which is a single metro ride from the airport. Conference fee is 270 Euros with accommodation for 3 nights in a single room, and 205 Euros with accommodation for 3 nights in a shared room.
